1) Player Eligibility
a) You are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older. Unless you have your parent/legal guardian's permission to enter should you be a minor in your state/province of residence,
b) All federal, state/provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
c) Players of any skill level may enter the tournament.
d) Participants need a copy of Painkiller and a reliable internet connection.
2) Online Registration
a) Online registration will take place HERE
b) Players may enter a tournament by registering before the end of the 1st day of the tournament.
c) In registering for and participating in Bring the Pain '08 (BTP08), each competitor agrees to be bound by the rules of this document and the tournament.
d) Players who sign up must be the sole entity playing for him - or herself. Furthermore, only registered competitors are allowed to participate in the tournament.
e) Participants may not submit more than one entry in to the tournament. Competitors with more than one entry will be disqualified.
f) All registration entries are subject to verification. If an entry has false or misleading information the player will be disqualified. Any attempt to forge entries or to illegally defraud in any way in connection with this tournament and/or event will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
g) DreamCather Interactive (DCI) reserves the right to use a registered player's name, photographs, video footage, recordings and/or any other likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without consent from the player beyond their willingness to register and compete in the tournament. |

1) Format
a) The tournament format is a two bracket Deathmatch tournament where individual players advance to the next Match and through their bracket based on who totals the greatest number of kills at the end of a given Match. (see Deathmatch section below for more details)
b) Tournament is run solely online, using DCI's sponsoring server company,
2) Game Play & Player Conduct
a) Any disorderly behavior disqualifies Contestants from participation, finals, or prizes. Tournament staff members are the final arbiters in all situations, and they have the final say in every situation, including with respect to chat. Please refrain from using harassing, negative, or profane language.
b) Spectator mode is reserved for Tournament staff only; no Contestant should ever be in spectator mode.
c) Any competitor or team attempting to use any exploit in a map shall be immediately disqualified and may be removed from the event. If you have a question regarding a particular tactic, you must ask a Tournament Official prior to the match.
d) No cheats or hacks of any kind are to be used. Contestants will be disqualified if they are caught using any cheat or 3rd party "helper" applications.
e) A Tournament Official has the right to disqualify and dismiss any registered player from the tournament, at his or her discretion, at any stage of the tournament, for any valid reason, without prior warning to the player. |

1) Format
a) The tournament commences with random pairings in a bracket style tournament (think NCAA March Madness)
b) Game definitions: A Match is defined as two 15 minute cycles on two stock PK maps.
The winner of a Match is determined by whomever has the greater number of kills at the end of the two map cycles.
c) Player must complete the Match to advance regardless of score.
d) You will be given five log-ins to the server. (See rules for Disconnects)
e) Upon completion of all Matches in the two brackets the top two players from each bracket will advance to the Final.
f) In the event of a tie at the end of a Match, the number of total deaths from the two cycles will be considered as the secondary criterion. Thereafter, if a tie still exists, Tournament Officials will randomly decide who advances. |

1) Timeliness
a) Competitors are required to be punctual for their scheduled matches, and are only allowed a ten-minute grace period before they are forfeited. While tardiness is not tolerated, it is at the Tournament Director's discretion whether or not to extend the grace period in specific instances. Repeated cases of tardiness will result in the permanent removal from the tournament.
b) Scheduled match times correspond to the time of the real match start, not to start logging on to the server.
c) Players are accountable for installation and correct configuration of their systems, or driver for their controller of choice. Tournament Officials will not be available to assist. Extra time beyond the scheduled match time will not be allowed for players experiencing problems on their systems.
2) Disconnects
a) All players who disconnect will be deducted a substantial number of kills from their total Match score by the Tournament Officials. Disconnects deemed intentional will result in the players disqualification from the tournament.
3) Cheating and Disruptions
a) By registering and participating in the BTP08, each participant agrees to be bound by the rules of this document. Breaking any rule listed herein is grounds for tournament disqualification at the discretion of the Tournament Officials.
b) Any tampering with computer hardware or software, including but not limited to intentional crashing of software and illegal modification of hardware or software configurations will result in immediate disqualification.
c) Each game will be closely observed by referees, game veterans in observation mode. Players whom suspect other players of cheating may additionally report the player in question to a Tournament Official.
d) Any form of cheating, including but not limited to intentional disconnects, ping flooding, server crashing, etc., will result in immediate disqualification of the competitor and/or team.
e) A Tournament Official has the right to disqualify and dismiss any registered player from the tournament, at his or her discretion, at any stage of the tournament, for any valid reason, without prior warning to the player. No refund will be issued.
f) CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR APPLICATION OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE TOURNAMENT IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Liability and Agreement
a) DreamCatcher Interacive and its Sponsors are not liable for any property that is lost, stolen or damaged or for any injury, accidental or intentional, to any participant of the tournament.
b) This whole Agreement cannot be changed, copied, quoted, or published in part or in whole, without the written authorization of the DreamCatcher Interactive.
c) This document and all rules are subject to change at the discretion of DreamCatcher Interactive. This may include the version or patch level of Painkiller.
d) Except where prohibited by law, each winner (or their parent/legal guardian should they be a minor in their state of residence) consents to the use of his/her name, city and state/province, likeness and entry in any manner by Sponsors, their designees and their advertising and promotion agencies without further compensation or notification. Acceptance of a prize constitutes each winner's (or their parent/legal guardian's should they be a minor in their state of residence) consent to have his or her name released in a winner's list which will be made available to the public.
e) By entering this Tournament, winners (or their parent/legal guardian should they be a minor in their state of residence) agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsors and any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, or related companies, or their respective officers, directors, employees or agents of the foregoing (collectively, the "Released Parties"), from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses taxes, expenses or damages of any kind, either at law or in equity, whether known or unknown (collectively, "Losses"), arising out of or in connection with this Tournament or that the winners might incur as a result of this Tournament or acceptance, possession or use or inability to use any prize (including, without limitation, Losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty, guarantee (express or implied) or other theory.
f) Winner (or their parent/legal guardian should they be a minor in their state of residence) further acknowledges that Sponsors are not liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including, but not limited to, its quality, mechanical condition, or fitness. |

DreamCatcher shall not be liable for prizes lost, damaged or stolen while
in transit, regardless of the cause.
All taxes, fees, and all other costs of ownership are the sole responsibility
of the winner. Prizes may not be transferred, substituted or redeemed for
cash. In the event a winner is unable to accept any prize for any reason,
a new winner will be selected following the procedures outlined above. DreamCatcher
reserves the right to substitute prizes based upon prize availability.
The winner will be notified by electronic mail (email). He / she will be
required to sign and return an Affidavit and Release (containing a skill-testing
question) within 10 days of notification, failing which that winner's prize
may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. By accepting a prize
and executing the Affidavit and Release, the winner agrees, where lawful,
that the Sponsors may use the winner's name, likeness, biographical information,
voice and statements attributed to winner, for advertising and promotional
purposes without additional consideration. The winner should allow 4 to
6 weeks after mailing the Affidavit and Release to receive their prize.
DreamCatcher is not responsible for any computer or human error of any kind
which compromises the administration or proper play of the contest. DreamCatcher
reserves the right in its sole discretion to terminate, extend or modify
the contest at any time.
This tournament is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
All personal information (if any) submitted by contest participants will
be subject to DreamCatcher’s Privacy Policy, located at its web site www.dreamcatchergames.com. |

This contest is sponsored by DreamCatcher Interactive Inc. (“DreamCatcher”).
The contest begins on July 31st, 2008 at 11:59 pm E.S.T. and ends September
31st, 2008 at 11:59 pm E.S.T. Draws will be made on or prior to October 15th
2008 at 11:00 am E.S.T.
DreamCatcher will select the winners from all eligible entries submitted
before the deadline. The names of the winners will be posted at the Bring the Pain 08 web site on or about October 31 2008. By entering this contest
you voluntarily submit to the Contest Rules, as may be amended from time
to time without notice.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open only to legal residents of Canada and
the United States, to persons who are the age of majority or older in the
jurisdiction in which they reside, or if younger, have the permission of
their parent or guardian, who shall be awarded the prize for the benefit
of the minor, excluding officers, directors, advisors and employees of DreamCatcher
Interactive Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, agents, including
their respective advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies (collectively,
the "Sponsors"), and the immediate families of each (including
mother, father sister, brother, child or spouse).
This contest is void where prohibited by law.

After reading and accepting these rules, fill in the sweepstakes submission
form completely.
Your entry will be automatically sent to us. Limit of one (1) entry per
email address. Should more than one entry be received from the same email
address, we reserve the right to void all additional entries.
DreamCatcher will not be responsible for late, lost, misdirected, illegible,
or scrambled entries. Incomplete or illegible entries will not be accepted.
DreamCatcher is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion,
defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized
access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network,
telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions
or bugs of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive
entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion
on the Internet or at any website or any combination of thereof. DreamCatcher
is not responsible for any injury or damage, including but not limited to,

CAUTION:
